Symptoms ♨ (2009) is an early transmedia content cloud: digital collage, found images, and object assemblages scavenged from consumer detritus and grouped as a modular network. Made in the first post-internet years and featured in Joe Hamilton’s Hypergeography, it marks Ball’s emerging interest in post-internet aesthetics, techno-materialism, and the Anthropocene. Corporate brands, fragrance machines, gels, plastics, plants, pharmaceuticals, medical dummies, and screen-grab residue occupy the same field — a picture of technological and post-industrial modernisation already warping biological systems, the planetary environment, and the human condition. This contract preserves the original artwork files as unique 1/1 editions. The cloud is live at iainball.ar.io/symptoms.html.
